I'd highly recommend the mussels starter if you're into mussels. Both the steak and fish dishes were cooked perfectly and very tasty. Both dishes paired nicely with a dram of the Talisker Storm (for those of legal drinking age). Don't leave without trying their Sticky Toffee Pudding!
A very nice old school with great decor. The food menu needs to be worked on as the pizza that was very basic and we left a behind. The soup was very good and the salad or okay.

We've been here a couple of times over the years. What an amazing experience. The location, the staff, the service and of course the superb food. Yes it's not the cheapest of places but you should know that if you're dining here. Everything about the Three Chimneys is at the higher end of dining but you're made to feel welcome and relaxed. Highly recommended but make sure you book in well in advance.
Weird things with service: brought still water instead of sparkling then made a fuss about changing it, took an order for something at the start of service which was off the menu and had to correct later. Food was fine, underwhelming and not particularity inventive. One or two courses were pretty unpleasant, but put that down to personal taste. Presentation and portions inconsistent from what we could see of the tables around us. Atmosphere: zero. Either whisper or make your peace with everyone listening to your conversation, it's like a church. I think there was music playing but if there was it was imperceptibly quiet. Basically fine, but in the context of what it costs it's really hard to recommend. Better options elsewhere. Don't believe the hype.
